
Beavers Beat Raiders in Exhibition

CORVALLIS – The Oregon State men's basketball team took down Southern Oregon 84-61 Sunday afternoon in exhibition action at Gill Coliseum.
The Beavers led by as many as 30 in the contest. Oregon State will open the regular season on Nov. 6 when Linfield visits Corvallis.
Tyler Bilodeau led the Beaverrs with 15 points and six rebounds despite playing limited minutes. Dexter Akanno had 12 points and five rebounds, while Jordan Pope finished 11 points and five assists. Christian Wright and DaJohn Craig recorded nine points apiece, while KC Ibekwe finished with eight.
As a team, the Beavers shot 56.4 percent from the floor and out-scored the Raiders 40-18 on points in the paint.
Oregon State jumped in front from the start, as it headed to the first media break up 9-5 behind four early points from Bilodeau. The Beavers extended the advantage to double-figures mid-way through the opening half.
Oregon State headed to the break leading 37-32. Akanno led the Beavers with nine first-half points.
OSU scored the first seven points of the second half to extend the lead to 12. The Beavers extended their lead from there, go in front by 21 with nine minutes left in the contest. Oregon State led by 30 with 4:30 to go, and controlled the contest from there to take the win by 23.
