Beavers Host Western Washington for Exhibition, Wildfire Relief Donation Game

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Oregon State welcomes Western Washington to Gill Coliseum on Sunday for a preseason exhibition contest and Maui wildfire relief game.

The Beavers and Vikings tip at 1:30 p.m. Admission is free and there is an opportunity to support Maui wildfire relief through Hope Chapel's Kokua Fund, which provides emergency short-term funds to those who need it.

The game will not be streamed or broadcasted on the radio and live stats will not be available. All seating will be general admission with the exception of courtside seats.

SCOUTING THE VIKINGS
Western Washington comes from the NCAA Division II ranks, but will provide excellent opposition for the Beavs before the season officially gets underway. The Vikings won the GNAC (Great Northwest Athletic Conference) regular season and tournament titles last season before finishing the year with a 24-4 (16-2 GNAC) record. Unanimous first-team All-GNAC pick Brooke Walling returns after averaging 13.4 points, 9.2 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 1.9 blocks and 1.6 steals per game during the regular season.

HOME SWEET HOME
Beaver Nation has been among the best women's basketball fan bases in the Pac-12 over the last six seasons. Oregon State is the only Pac-12 team to finish in the top-three in the conference in average attendance over the last five non-Covid seasons. During that time, OSU has been 82-18 inside the friendly confines of Gill Coliseum.

STARTING FIVE
- Oregon State and Western Washington square off on Sunday with an opportunity to compete in Gill Coliseum prior to the season's official start on November 6 (for the Beavs) and 10 (for the Viks)
- The Beavers feature seven returners from last season's team and welcome six newcomers to the squad: three freshmen and three transfers
- All 13 players will have the opportunity to return in 2024-25 as none will exhaust their eligibility this season. The team features five juniors, five sophomores and three freshmen
- OSU's returners include 2023 Pac-12 Freshman of the Year Raegan Beers as well as 2023 All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention guard Talia von Oelhoffen and 2023 Pac-12 All-Freshman Honorable Mention Timea Gardiner
- The Beavers' officially tip-off the 2023-24 campaign on Monday, November 6 against Arkansas-Pine Bluff
