
Beavers Set for Sunday Exhibition vs. Southern Oregon

THE GAME:Â The Oregon State men's basketball team will host Southern Oregon in an exhibition game at 5 p.m. on Sunday at Gill Coliseum.

TRICK-OR-TREAT:Â Sunday will be a busy day around Gill Coliseum, as the Oregon State women's basketball team will host an exhibition game against Western Washington at 1:30, followed by the annual Beaver Athletics Trick-Or-Treat Event, leading up to the men's basketball exhibition.
TELEVISION:Â The game will not be televised.
RADIO:Â The game will not be broadcasted.

WHAT'S COMING UP:Â Oregon State will open the 2023-24 regular season on Monday Nov. 6 when Linfield visits Gill Coliseum. The Beavers start the campaign with three consecutive home games, as they will also play Troy (Nov. 10) and Appalachian State (Nov. 14) at Gill.
SANFORD PENTAGON: Oregon State will play a neutral site game on Nov. 18 against Nebraska at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, S.D. Since opening in 2013, the Sanford Pentagon has hosted more than 80 Division I men's and women's college basketball games. This year's contest will mark the 11th all-time meeting between Oregon State and Nebraska, and the first since the 2009-10 campaign. The Beavers hold a 6-4 edge in the series.

NIT SEASON TIP-OFF: The Beavers will spend Thanksgiving Weekend in Brooklyn, N.Y., as they take part in the NIT Season Tip-Off at the Barclays Center. Oregon State will open the event by taking on Baylor, followed by a matchup with either Florida or Pittsburgh.

- Oregon State returns a six-player sophomore classs, which combined for 64 games started and averaged a combined 33 points per game last season
- The Beavers were one of seven teams in the nation last season with three or more freshmen averaging 6.0 points or more per game (Pope, Bilodeau, Rataj)
- Prior to last season, the last Oregon State freshman trio to average over six points per contest was Tres Tinkle, Stephen Thompson Jr. and Drew Eubanks in 2015-16.
- Oregon State's freshmen combined to play 48.8 of the teams minutes in 2022-23, the fourth-highest mark in the nation. Duke was the only Power-5 program with a higher percentage.
- The Beavers welcome four new scholarship players on to this year's squad - freshmen Gavin Marrs, Thomas Ndong and DaJohn Craig, along with junior-college transfer Nate Meithof. Meithof is expected to miss the season due to injury.
- Stephen Thompson is returning to an assistant coaching role this season, after spending last year as Assistant Athletic Director for Player Development. Former Beaver great Roberto Nelson is taking over Thompson's previous position.
