Carey Earns Back-To-Back Pac-12 Gymnast of the Week Honors

CORVALLIS, Ore. – After matching the highest all-around score in the country with a 39.825 on Saturday, Oregon State gymnast Jade Carey earned her second weekly award of the 2023 season and 11th of her career, taking home Gymnast of the Week honors for the second-straight week, as announced by the Pac-12 offices on Tuesday morning.
The sophomore swept the awards in her season-debut at Gill on Saturday, matching her regular season best in the all-around and second-best mark overall in program history. Carey now has 56 event titles and 13 all-around titles.
She currently ranks fourth in the country in the all-around and is one of only two NCAA gymnast with a 10.000 on vault thus far, leading the country with a 9.950 average on the apparatus after three weeks.
Carey recorded a pair of season-best this week, with a 9.950 on beam, to lead Oregon State to a 49.525, their highest team score in five years on beam, while also putting together a 9.925 on bars to help OSU go over 49.000 for the first time this season, en route to their season-high 197.200 team score.
The 2020 Olympic gold medalist on floor just missed back-to-back 10s with a 9.975 on the final event Saturday to move her into a tie for third in the country with a 9.333 average over the first three weeks.
Carey and Oregon State gymnastics return home on Friday, Jan. 27 at 6 p.m. against Rutgers at Legendary Gill Coliseum.
