CORVALLIS – A bevy of new Beavs will make their collegiate debuts on Friday when Oregon State travels north for the Ash Creek Invitational.

The 5K race will be held at Western Oregon's Ash Creek Preserve Course, located on the WOU campus in Monmouth. The course has hosted four NCAA Division II West Regionals and was the home of the 2019 Pac-12 Championships.

Oregon State will send nine Beavers out onto the course: Eliza Eckman, Jamie Hamlin, Kate Laurent, Teaghan Knox, Ellie Quintana, Libby Rinck, Payton Smith, Sophia Stubblefield and Emily van Valkenburg. Eight of the nine are freshmen racing collegiately for the first time.

After finishing in second at the Lewis & Clark Chase Race on September 1, the Beavers maintained their no. 5 regional ranking in the from USTFCCCA. Oregon State dropped a single spot in the national coaches' poll to No. 26.
