LAKE OSWEGO – Oregon State cross country battled the field, course and warm weather on Thursday to knock off the offseason rust at the Lewis & Clark Chase Race.

The Beavs totaled four top-ten finishes on the three-mile course. As a team, OSU finished second in the eight-team field.

"I thought we raced well – solid effort," head coach Louie Quintana said. "It was most certainly hot and hilly, but we really fought hard and competed well. I'm really pleased with the crew."

Zoe Simmons paced Oregon State, completing the course in 17:05.5 and placing sixth. Three teammates followed Simmons across the finish line with Emily Foote (17:12.3), Aleen Golla (17:15.4) and Delia DeLeon (17:26.5) occupying spots 7-9. Gabby Peterson crossed the line in 11th (17:37.1) and Emily Perez rounded out the Beavers in 24th (18:58.0).
