Beaver XC Set To Open Season in Lake Oswego

CORVALLIS – Oregon State cross country heads north to open the 2022 season on Thursday at the Lewis & Clark Chase Race in Lake Oswego, Ore.

The race will be held at Lake Oswego Municipal Course with a start time set for 6:45. The course will be consist of three, one-mile loops with the men's race taking off a minute and a half before the women's contest.

Oregon State will send seven Beavers out onto the course: Delia DeLeon, Emily Foote, Aleen Golla, Emily Perez, Gabby Peterson, and Zoe Simmons. Five of the six helped the Beavs win last season's opening race, the Viking Rust Buster.

The Beavers earned a no. 5 regional ranking in the from USTFCCCA. It is the second-highest preseason regional ranking in school history, coming in just behind last season's no. 4 ranking.

The Beavs return two All-Region runners in Kaylee Mitchell and Grace Fetherstonhaugh and added 2019 All-Region runner Olivia Johnson as a transfer from Boise State.
