May 15, 2022 | Softball
CORVALLIS, Ore. – Oregon State softball has been selected for the NCAA tournament for the first time since 2018 and for the 15th time in program history, earning the No. 3 seed in the Knoxville Regional. The Beavers will be joined in the region by host No. 11 Tennessee, Ohio State and Campbell.
Oregon State opens the regional against Ohio State on Friday, May 20 while Tennessee hosts the fourth-seed Campbell.
The winner of the double-elimination NCAA Regional will move on to the best-of-three NCAA Super Regional against the winner of the Tuscaloosa Regional. The Women's College World Series will be played in Oklahoma City, Okla., June 2-9/10.
The postseason appearance for the Beavers is the fifth time under head coach Laura Berg while OSU collected the most wins during a single season since 2013 with a 33-19 overall record. The Beavers wrapped up the regular season this past weekend splitting against Utah.
Five players were selected to the All-Pac-12 teams earlier last week, led by senior Mariah Mazon and junior Frankie Hammoude named to the first team. Freshmen duo of Kiki Escobar and Sarah Haendiges both earned second team and all freshman team nods while freshman counterpart Eliana Gottlieb was also garnered to the all freshman team.
The Knoxville Regional will run from May 20-22.
