CORVALLIS, Ore. – In the final regular season game of the season, Oregon State softball suffered a 5-3 setback to Utah in the series finale of the Pac-12 weekend Saturday.

Despite the loss, the Beavers took the series over Utah and await their fate in the NCAA Championship as the selection show is slated for Sunday, May 15 at 4 p.m. PT on ESPN2.
Â
Prior to the first pitch, the Orange & Black honored its lone super senior Mariah Mazon. Mazon has marched her way into the OSU softball history book during her time in Corvallis. She has been a force both in the circle and behind the plate for the Beavers.
Â
In her final game at Kelly Field, Mazon went 1-for-2 with an RBI. In the circle, she tossed the final 2.2 innings giving up just one hit and struck out three Utes.

The Beavers close out the regular season at 33-19 overall and 9-15 during league play. The 33 victories are the most since the 2013 campaign when OSU went 34-23.
Â
Freshman Sarah Haendiges (10-6) suffered the loss in 4.1 innings of work, giving up eight hits that led to five runs with three earned runs. Haendiges struck out three in 22 batters faced.
Â
As a team, Oregon State scattered seven hits as Frankie Hammoude led the way with a 2-for-3 performance. Freshman Eliana Gottlieb collected her second consecutive game with a double while also scoring a run.
Â
After three scoreless innings, Utah got on the board first with a two-run shot over the right field wall. The Utes took the 5-0 lead in the fifth with a trio of runs in the frame.
Â
The Beavers responded, pulling within two, in the fifth and sixth frames after adding a pair of runs in the fifth and one in the sixth. During the two innings, OSU had six hits and stranded the bases loaded in the sixth.
