Jacob Melton went 3-for-5 and Jacob Kmatz scattered five hits and a run in 5 1/3 innings to send Oregon State to a 9-1 win over Utah Saturday in Salt Lake City. Matthew Gretler hit a three-run home run in the ninth to cap OSU's scoring, which was supported by 12 Beaver hits. Melton singled in runs in the third, seventh and eighth innings, while Garret Forrester drove in two, including the game winner on a sacrifice fly in the third. Kmatz became the second eight-game winner in the Pac-12 after striking out five in his 10th start of the season. Â He allowed just a first-inning run.

• Oregon State's opponents, over the past seven games, have scored in just one inning per game. The Beavers have allowed just 13 runs over those seven games and are 6-1 in that stretch.
