Â
MEET THE HOSTS
Oregon enters Sunday's contest with a 6-1 record and the No. 17 national ranking in both the AP Top 25 and USA Today Coaches' Poll. Like the Beavers, the Ducks are led by a pair of veteran guards along with multiple strong freshmen. Veterans Te-Hina Paopao and Endyia Rogers were preseason All-Pac-12 selections while freshmen Chance Gray and Grace VanSlooten are among UO's top four scorers.
Â
TOP OF THE PAC
Oregon State has been one of the top teams in the Pac-12 since the 2014-15 season with a 98-37 record in league play. Beaver players have earned 13 All-Pac-12 First-Team nods over the last six seasons and head coach Scott Rueck is one of five coaches in Pac-12 history to win the John R. Wooden Coach of the Year Award multiple times.
Â
DEFENSIVE GAMECHANGER
Bendu Yeaney's arrival in Corvallis gives the Beavers a powerful on-ball defender they haven't had since the days of Gabby Hansen. Yeaney, a transfer from Arizona, has racked up 19 three-steal games over the last three seasons with her team going 14-6 in those contests. The senior has also had at least one steal and one block in 39 games in her career. Her team is 31-8 in those games.
Â
CERTIFIED BUCKET-GETTER
Talia von Oelhoffen joined an exclusive list of Rueck-era Beavers when she scored 31 points against USC last season. Only six other Beavs have scored 30+ over the last 12 seasons: Jamie Weisner, Marie Gulich, Aleah Goodman, Ruth Hamblin, Kat Tudor and Destiny Slocum. Even among that highly-touted group, von Oelhoffen now stands alone as the the first Beaver under Rueck to score 30+ twice in her career after dropping 32 on Eastern Washington earlier this year.
