
Beavs Head to Regionals Looking for Standout Performance

CORVALLIS – Oregon State heads to the NCAA West Regional race looking for a big-time performance to secure its spot at the national championships.
The regional race begins at 10 a.m. at Chambers Bay Golf Course. Fans can find live results to follow the action here.
The Beavers, ranked No. 5 in the latest USTFCCCA Regional Rankings, will square off with four nationally-ranked foes in the regional meet. Last season, Oregon State placed seventh with 206 points. The best finish in school history is 6th place with 196 points in 2018 when the Beavs advanced to the national championship meet.
All-Pac-12 honorees Grace Fetherstonhaugh and Kaylee Mitchell headline the Beaver lineup after finishing 9th and 12th respectively at the Pac-12 Championships in Riverside.
Former All-Mountain West runner Christina Geisler is a strong veteran presence in her second year on the team, placing third among the OSU contingent at Pac-12s . Zoe Simmons enters the regional with the most races under her belt in 2022, racing as part of Oregon State's group at both the Lewis & Clark Opener and the Nuttycombe Invitational.
Oregon State will race three freshmen, Emily van Valkenburg, Teaghan Knox and Kate Laurent. The trio finished 1-2-3 at the Ash Creek Invitational early in the season and have championship experience from the Pac-12 race where van Valkenburg and Laurent both scored.
