
Beavers Blow By Lewis & Clark in Exhibition Action

CORVALLIS - Â The Oregon State men's basketball team took down Lewis & Clark 98-49 Saturday evening in exhibition action at Gill Coliseum.

Dexter Akanno led the Beavers with 20 points on 7-for-10 shooting from the floor, converting five of his seven 3-point attempts. Tyler Bilodeau finished with 18 points and seven rebounds, shooting 8-for-10 in the contest.

Nick Krass tallied 12 points in his Gill Coliseum debut, while fellow freshman Jordan Pope also finished in double-figures with 10 points. Glenn Taylor Jr. ended his evening with eight points, five assists and four rebounds. Michael Rataj led the Beavers with nine rebounds.

As a team, Oregon State shot 62.1 percent from the floor, while holding Lewis & Clark to 28.1 percent shooting. The Beavers also held a 47-21 advantage on the boards.

The Beavers opened up a 10-2 lead at the game's first media timeout, behind eight early points from Akanno. The guard would amass a total of 17 points in the first half, as Oregon State opened up a 51-28 advantage at the intermission.

OSU extended the lead to 30 early in the second half, and took the lead by as many as 56 before ultimately taking the victory by 49.

The Beavers will open the regular season on Nov. 7 when they host Tulsa at Gill Coliseum.
