
Beaver Rowing Opens Fall Slate At Head Of The Spokane

CORVALLIS, Ore. – For the second straight season, the Oregon State women's rowing team begins their fall schedule at the Head of the Spokane hosted by Gonzaga.
The Beavs will compete against Loyola Marymount, host Gonzaga and Pac-12 rival Washington State with the racing set to being at 9 a.m. PT. In the head race format, boats start at different intervals, racing against one another and for time over the 5,000-meter course. In total, OSU is set to see 12 different boats hit the water, racing three 8+s, four varsity 4+s and five pairs on the Spokane River. A year ago, at the Head of the Spokane, the Beavs 1V8 boat took first in Oregon State's first fall competition since 2019, clocking in at 16:28 to capture the win in the first flight, while the 1V4, A pair and B pair all finished in the top five for Oregon State. The Orange and Black are coming off of their best season since 2009, finishing 14th at the 2022 NCAA Championships.
