Cooper Hjerpe struck out nine and scattered three hits and a run in 6 2/3 innings but took the loss in UCLA's 2-0 win over the Beavers in the second game of the series on Saturday. Hjerpe's lone blemish was a fourth-inning bases-loaded wild pitch. • The Beavers are on pace for 605 strikeouts through the regular season. OSU's school record is 596 in 68 games during the 2018 season.
• OSU has struck out 10 or more in 30 of the team's 42 games this season.
