Matthew Gretler drove home the game-winning runs in the 11th inning as the Beavers defeated UC Irvine, 7-5, Friday afternoon. Jacob Melton hit a two-out, two-run home run in the ninth inning, while Ryan Ober tallied his team-leading seventh home run of the season in the eighth. Joey Mundt, the last of seven Oregon State pitchers, recorded the save with a scoreless 11th. It marked his first of the season.
Seven, Then Six
• Ryan Ober hit his team-leading seventh home run of the season in the eighth. He then watched as Jacob Melton hit his sixth of the year in the ninth.
• Ober's shot marked the Beavers' eighth of the season in the eighth while OSU has now recorded three in the ninth.
• Friday marked the third time this season Ober and Melton have homered in the same game. The duo also did so on April 2 versus Utah and April 16 against California, both Beaver wins.
