
Goodman Reaches 1,000, Beavers Beat Buffs

Oregon State notches road win
BOULDER, Colo. – Aleah Goodman became the 24th player in Oregon State women's basketball history to reach 1,000 career points Friday evening, as the Beavers took down Colorado 72-64 in Boulder.

"I'm really excited for this win," said Oregon State head coach Scott Rueck. "I think you can see it in the way we are playing, the way we are executing – we've been communicating at a completely different level as we are gaining some consistency in our schedule. You're seeing some great performances throughout our roster. Also really excited for Aleah – that's a big milestone for anybody. It's a great accomplishment and well deserved."

Goodman finished with 21 points and five assists, going 7-for-15 from the floor. She scored her 1,000th career point on a free throw in the closing moments of the game

Ellie Mack finished with 15 points, her highest scoring total of the season, while Talia von Oelhoffen finished in double-figures for the second-straight contest, hitting five of her seven shot attempts to end the day with 13 points.

Jelena Mitrovic put in a strong showing off the bench, finishing with eight points on a perfect 4-for-4 shooting, while Sasha Goforth scored eight points. Taya Corosdale led the Beavers with seven rebounds.

As a team, Oregon State shot 54.7 percent in the contest and 52.6 from beyond the arc.

The teams went back and forth in the first quarter, as Goodman scored at the buzzer to give Oregon State a 17-16 lead at the end of the period.

The Beavers were able to create a little bit of separation in the second frame, going in front by eight late in the period before heading into the break up 41-39.

Goodman went 5-for-9 in the first half, recording 13 points.

The two sides continued to battle in the third quarter, with Oregon State heading to the closing frame leading 53-50.

The Beavers extended the advantage to double-figures mid-way through the fourth, prompting a Colorado timeout. Oregon State held on from there, taking the win by eight.

The Beavers will head west on Sunday for a matchup with Utah.
