
Mazon Earns All-America Honors

Corvallis – Junior Mariah Mazon (Tulare, Calif.) were named Softball America All-America Third Team after leading the Beavers in the circle and offensively during the 2020 season.
Mazon finished the season with a 10-6 record through 20 appearances at pitcher. With a final ERA of 1.18, Mazon struck out 130 batters including a career-high 12 vs. Dayton. She also threw two no-hitters – the first coming in her season debut at UNLV on Feb. 7 and the second coming the following weekend at Houston on Feb. 15.
At the plate, Mazon led the Beavers with a .377 batting average. The junior batted in all-26 games and recorded 29 hits, 15 RBI and scored eight runs. She hit four home runs and five doubles.
In the NCAA, Mazon finished the season ranked third in shutouts (six), sixth in saves (four), seventh in strikeouts and 32nd in ERA. She finished eighth in OSU's single-season records in saves and moved up the career records in the following categories: eighth in complete game shutouts (12), third in saves (nine) and sixth in strikeouts (437).
The final rankings from the USA Softball/ESPN.com poll was released on Tuesday morning. Oregon State softball closed out the season receiving votes. This marks the six-straight poll OSU received votes this season.
