Four Beavers earn conference honors
CORVALLIS – Four different Oregon State players earned conference awards on Tuesday, headlined by All-Pac-12 selections Mikayla Pivec and Destiny Slocum.

Pivec and Slocum earn all-conference recognition for the second-straight season, while Pivec was also named to the Pac-12 All-Defensive Team. Taylor Jones notched three awards, as she made the Pac-12 All-Freshman squad, and was an Honorable Mention for both All-Pac-12 and the Pac-12 All-Defensive Team. Aleah Goodman was also a Pac-12 All-Defensive Honorable Mention.

Pivec has been named to the Wooden Award Late Season Top-20, Cheryl Miller Award Top-10, Naismith Defensive Midseason Team, and the Naismith Trophy Midseason Team. The guard was tabbed as the Preseason WNIT MVP and to the All-Tournament Teams for both the Maui Classic and the Miami Thanksgiving Classic.

The guard from Lynnwood, Wash. is averaging 14.9 points and 9.5 rebounds per game this season. Pivec is second in the Pac-12 in rebounding and fifth in the conference in field goal percentage. The guard has 14 double-doubles this season, and is in the top-10 in Oregon State history for career points, rebounds and assists.

Slocum has been named to the Lieberman Award Top-10 and the Naismith Trophy Midseason Team. She leads the Beavers with 15.1 points per game this season, and has a team-best 143 assists on the year.

Overall, Slocum has 500 assists in her collegiate career, good for 20th among active player in the nation, and the highest total by any non-senior. She has posted four career point-assist double-doubles, and has gone over 20 points 16 times in her two seasons with the Beavers.

Jones has etched her name into the Oregon State freshman record book, setting the freshman record for blocks and sitting third in freshman rebounds and ninth in freshman scoring. The three-time Pac-12 Freshman of the Week is averaging 12.6 points and 7.5 rebounds per game, and is second in the Pac-12 in field goal percentage at 59.0. Overall, the first year player has 10 double-doubles and 21 double-figure scoring games.

Goodman is second on the team with 26 steals this season, and plays an average of 28.9 minutes per contest. The guard is Oregon State's career leader in 3-point percentage, and scored a total of 37 points over the course of the Beavers' two games last weekend. Goodman was the Pac-12 Sixth Player of the Year last season.

The Beavers will head to Las Vegas this week to take part in the Pac-12 Tournament. Oregon State will take on Washington State Thursday in the event's first round, in a game that will tip at 8:30 p.m.
