Oregon State Adds Three Wednesday

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Oregon State football announced the addition of three student-athletes for the 2020 season on Wednesday.Â
Joining the program are tight end Malik Kelley (Portland, Ore.), offensive lineman Tyler Morano (Livermore, Calif.) and inside linebacker Porter Phillips (Albany, Ore.).
Season ticket prices for the 2020 season remain the same as for 2019, with an additional game and the 124th Civil War. For information on season tickets please call 541-737-2050 or online at osubeavers.com.

Kelley comes from Portland's Roosevelt High School where he was an all-league selection at both tight end and defensive end his senior year. He caught 16 passes and three touchdowns in 2019 while also making 33 tackles with 13 tackles for loss and six sacks.

Morano joins Oregon State from Livermore's Granada High School. He was a two-year starter on both the offensive and defensive lines, earning first-team all-league honors in 2019. Morano was also named 2019 All-Bay Area Preps and SF All-Metro, by the San Francisco Chronicle, as a senior.

Phillips starred at West Albany High School and was named the 2019 Mid-Willamette League Offensive and Defensive Player of the Year. He is believed to be the first player to win both honors in the same year in the league's 14-year history. He rushed for 1,548 yards and made 52 tackles as a senior.

• Totaled 65 tackles with 13 sacks as a senior
• Finished with 56 tackles and eight sacks as a junior
• Also lettered two seasons in basketball
• Member of the Principal's Honor Roll and has earned the Academic Block Award during his time at Granada High School
• Born in Walnut Creek, Calif.
• Son of Kathy and Chris Morano
• Has one brother, Joshua
• Intends to study business at Oregon State and would like to go into a career in finance after his playing career

• 2019 Mid-Willamette Conference Offensive and Defensive Player of the Year. Believed to be the first player in the 14-year history of the conference to win both honors in the same year, per the Albany Democrat-Herald
• As a junior, earned Second-Team All-State honors at defensive back and was selected First-Team All-League
• Rushed for 1,548 yards on 167 carries as a senior. Added 22 touchdowns
• Totaled 52 tackles with 11 tackles for loss, two sacks and two interceptions as a senior
• Has also played baseball for four seasons. Is an outfielder and pitcher
• Son of Rechelle and Jeff Phillips
• Has one sister, Delanie
• Intends to study kinesiology at Oregon State
• Chose Oregon State "because of the strong brotherhood and how welcome the coaching staff is. I also like how determined the coaching staff and players are to win."
