Alex McGarry had two hits, including a ninth-inning home run, but Oregon State was unable to overcome an early 4-0 Mississippi State lead in a 7-4 loss to the Bulldogs on Saturday afternoon. Kyler McMahan and Troy Claunch each had two hits apiece, with the latter driving in a run in the Beavers' two-run fourth inning.
Large Crowd
The 12,034 in attendance at Saturday's game was the largest non-Omaha crowd to watch an Oregon State game since the 2012 Baton Rouge Regional game two when the Beavers and LSU played to a crowd of 11,535. It was the largest for a regular season game featuring the Beavers since 13,709 attended a Civil War matchup at PGE Park (in Portland) on March 29, 2009.
