
Beavers Face Cal Poly in Home Finale

CORVALLIS, Ore. -Â Oregon State Wrestling (7-6, 1-2 Pac-12) squares off against Cal Poly on Saturday, Feb. 22 in the regular season finale inside Gill Coliseum. The match will be televised on Pac-12 Oregon beginning at 1 p.m. PT.
The Beavers racked up two wins last weekend by defeating Cal-Baptist and Little Rock with resounding victories. OSU picked up a pair of technical falls and major decisions as well as a pin to defeat inaugural conference opponent, Little Rock, by a score of 42-0.

HONORING LEGENDS
Saturday's match will feature a special recognition for two of Oregon State's most revered and legendary wrestlers. Howard Harris (1977-80) and Jess Lewis (1967-70) are two of three of OSU's heavyweight champions and will get a chance to address the crowd during intermission.
Harris – A four-time All-American, Harris took the wrestling world by storm with his historic senior season in 1980. Harris compiled a perfect 46-0 record as a heavyweight in his final season with the Beavers, including a whopping 40 pins.
Harris' 40th pin of the year gave him the title and he remains one of just five wrestlers to pin each of their five opponents on the way to an NCAA DI crown. Harris owns the record for highest number of wins (169), individual season pins (40) and individual winning percentage (46-0-0).
Lewis – One of Oregon State's greatest athletes and one of its biggest ambassadors, Lewis returns to legendary Gill Coliseum on Saturday afternoon.
A three-time conference champion (1968–1970), three-time All-American (1968–1970), and a two-time NCAA champion (1969, 1970) in the heavyweight division, Lewis was a force during his time at OSU. He was a combined 76-1 as a wrestler in his three seasons, which leads the program in career winning percentage.Â

SCOUTING THE COMPETITION
Cal Poly (3-8, 1-3 Pac-12) is coming off of two home losses to CSU Bakersfield and Arizona State last weekend. The Mustangs are led by No. 12-ranked Tom Lane at 197 pounds who owns a 16-4 record. Lane is a two-time national qualifier and reached the quarterfinals of the NCAAs last year. Cal Poly owns wins against Drexel, San Francisco State and Cal Baptist.
LAST TIME OUT
The Beavers defeated Cal Baptist, 26-12, and Little Rock, 42-0, to pick up two resounding victories inside Gill Coliseum. The Beavers registered eight victories against Cal Baptist and shut out Little Rock with two technical falls, two major decisions and a pin.Â
