February 01, 2020 | Women's Track & Field
SEATTLE, Wash. – Oregon State Track & Field wrapped up two days of competition at the UW Invitational held at the Dempsey Indoor Center on the University of Washington campus.
Ann Wingeleth took first in the high jump and came close to breaking to her PR with a clearance of 5-8. Meagen Lowe ran her first mile for Oregon State, and did not disappoint by clocking in at 4:52 in 22nd place to move into fourth place all-time in the event.
Claire Corbitt and Maddie McHone set the tone in the pentathlon on day one and consistently finished within the top-10 in each respective event. Corbitt finished the event with a total of 3141 points in eighth place while McHone finished a spot after with 3101 points in her first collegiate pentathlon.
Corbitt's best finish came in the 60-meter hurdles where she took sixth with a time of 9.21 and improved 13 seconds from running at the UW Preview on Jan. 18. In her first pentathlon and 60-meter race, McHone's sixth-place finish in the high jump highlighted her debut with a leap of 1.60m (5-3).
A group of distance runners impressed in the 5K with Greta Van Calcar leading the way in 15th place and clocking in at 16:46.98 to match her own school record which she set last January.
Alyssa Foote followed in 16th place (16:47.61), which marks the second-best time in school history while a pair of freshman followed to also etch their names in the record books. Gabby Peterson (17:14.97) and Libby Rinck (19:20.25) finished 36th and 52nd, respecitvely, to also join Foote on the all-time list.
