Jaydon Grant Nominated For Burlsworth Trophy

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Oregon State redshirt junior Jaydon Grant is one of 67 nominees for the 2020 Burlsworth Trophy, the award announced on Tuesday.
Now in its 11th year, the Burlsworth Trophy honors the most outstanding football player at the FBS level who began his career as a walk-on and has shown outstanding performance on the field. The honor is named after former Arkansas All-American offensive lineman Brandon Burlsworth.
Grant, a defensive back, is one of eight players from the Pac-12 Conference who has been nominated.
The West Linn, Ore., native has played in 30 games over four seasons for the Beavers, and enters Saturday's matchup with Stanford having made 78 tackles with 2.5 tackles for loss and one sack. He has four career interceptions, 10 pass breakups and one forced fumble.
He has started all five games this season, and has two interceptions with three pass breakups to go along with 19 tackles. He has been graded by Pro Football Focus as one of the top defensive backs in the Pac-12 this season.
The Burlsworth Trophy will host a virtual awards ceremony on Jan. 4, 2021 to honor three finalists and announce the winner.
