Rowing Programs Start Nine-Month Fundraising Race

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Oregon State men's and women's rowing programs have started a nine-month fundraising race to raise $200,000.
There will be a competition between the two programs to see which can secure the most donors. The goal is to raise $100,000 for each program by June 12, 2021.
The fundraising campaign is broken into 500 meter segments with internal competitions, challenge grants and celebrations per 500.The first 500 is underway and ends on Oct. 24; the second 500 will be Oct. 25 to Jan. 9, 2021; the third 500 is Jan. 10 to Feb. 20, 2021; and the fourth 500 will be Feb. 21 to June 12, 2021.
On Saturday Oct. 24, a virtual Orange & Black Regatta will take place in lieu of the annual home scrimmage. Start the day with an alumni physical challenge and then join head coaches Gabe Winkler and Kate Maxim for a virtual happy hour at 4 p.m. PT to celebrate the conclusion of the first 500 and meet the newest members of the team. Alumni are encouraged to participate in 5k+ worth of exercise, wear orange and black clothing, challenge former teammates and family members, and post the accomplishments on social media with the hashtag #beaverrowingchallenge.
