Oregon State’s Season Comes To An End

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Alex McGarry and Zak Taylor each tallied two hits but Oregon State lost to Creighton, 4-1, Saturday afternoon at Goss Stadium at Coleman Field.
The Beavers' season, with the loss, comes to an end at 36-20-1. Creighton (39-12), meanwhile, advanced to Sunday's action and will play at noon.
Taylor was 2-for-3 with a double while McGarry finished 2-for-4. Andy Armstrong drove in Oregon State's lone run with a sac fly in the fourth inning.
That pulled the Beavers to within a 3-1 mark, but the Bluejays scored a solo run in the seventh for the final tally.
Grant Gambrell started for Oregon State and took the loss to drop to 5-3 this season. He allowed five hits and three runs in 4 1/3 innings. His counterpart, Evan Johnson, improved to 9-2 after limiting the Beavers to three hits and a run with five walks and three strikeouts. John Sakowski held Oregon State scoreless over 3 1/3 to earn his third save of the season.
