Four Beavers Notch Pac-12 Honors

Weeks, Mazon, Hammoude and Rader honored
CORVALLIS – Four Oregon State softball players have been named to the 2019 Pacific-12 Softball All-Conference teams, as announced by the Conference on Wednesday. Shelby Weeks and Mariah Mazon received second team honors while Frankie Hammoude and Maia Rader earned All-Freshman accolades.
Outfielder Weeks earned Pac-12 Second Team selection in her final season for the Beavers. The Tracy, Calif. native set the school record for career stolen bases this season with 59. Weeks is currently holds a .309 batting average and leads the team with 43 hits and 36 runs scored. Weeks has seven hits, one triple and three home runs with 22 RBI and a .439 slugging percentage. This marks the second All-Conference selection for the senior as she was named to the All-Freshman team in 2016.
Sophomore pitcher Mazon recorded her third career All-Conference honor and joined Weeks on the Pac-12 Second Team. This season Mazon has racked up 15 wins with a 2.84 ERA. She leads the Beavers with 24 starts, 160.0 innings pitched and 153 strikeouts. The Tulare, Calif. native has spun 18 complete games including four complete game shutouts. Mazon swept Oregon in OSU's last outing while striking out eight batters and earning Pac-12 Pitcher of the Week honors for her performance. Last season, Mazon was selected to the All-Conference Third Team and the All-Freshman Team.
Freshman first baseman Frankie Hammoude was selected to the All-Freshman team. Hammoude has started all 42 games to date this season with a fielding percentage of .977 with 285 putouts and only seven errors. She is batting .270 on the season with 30 hits including one double, 10 home runs and 31 RBI. Hammoude launched her first career home run in her first at bat as a freshman against CSUN on February 9. Hammoude also recorded her first grand slam at home against No. 11 Arizona on March 23.
Shortstop Maia Rader was also selected to the All-Freshman team. The Orangevale, Calif. native currently leads the team with a .311 batting average with 28 hots including seven doubles, two triples, six stolen bases and 12 RBI. Rader earned Pac-12 Freshman of the Week honors on April 29 after an outstanding performance to help the Beavers sweep Oregon. She batted .750 going 6-for-8 over three games with three triples, four RBI, two runs scored and a 1.125 slugging percentage.
Oregon State is set to host Utah in the final Pac-12 series of the regular season beginning on Thursday, May 9 at 5 p.m.
