The Beavers previous record, set last season, was set at seven student-athletes at the regional. OSU previously sent six in 2016, and four in 2011 and 2010.
Returning javelin All-American Destiny Dawson is the only athlete with prior regional experience making the trip to Sacramento. Fetherstonhaugh, McShane, Crockem, McLaughlin, Dawson, Slater and Wingeleth will all be making their first appearance.
Qualifiers from the West preliminary round will advance to the NCAA Championships at Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin, Texas on June 5-8. Each event features 48 competitors with the top 12 finishers in the Sacramento Regional and the Jacksonville Regional advancing to the finals in Austin.
