Joe Casey was 3-for-4 with a triple and Alex McGarry homered and finished 2-for-4 with two RBI but Oregon State dropped an 8-5 decision to Stanford Friday night. Adley Rutschman also drove in a pair of runs for the Beavers, who lost their first game at Sunken Diamond since 2009.

Rutschman's Honors This Week
Adley Rutschman has received a considerable number of honors this week. On Wednesday, he was named a semifinalist for the Golden Spikes Award (top amateur player). On Thursday, he was named a semifinalist for the Dick Howser Trophy (top collegiate player). On Friday, he was named a semifinalist for the Buster Posey Award (nation's top catcher).

Two More RBI
Adley Rutschman drove in a pair of runs on Friday, and the junior took sole possession of third place in the Oregon State career record books with 171. He's two behind No. 2 Andy Jarvis (2000-03) and eight behind No. 1 Michael Conforto (2012-14). Rutschman has 55 RBI on the year, five shy of tying KJ Harrison (2015) for the 10th-most in a single season.

Bullpen Continues Strong Stretch
Joey Mundt gave up his first run since Feb. 16 against Gonzaga, snapping a stretch of five consecutive outings without a run allowed. The Oregon State bullpen, meanwhile, has allowed just one run in its last 20 innings. The 'pen has allowed just seven hits over that stretch.

Error-Free Streak Snapped
Oregon State's error-free streak was snapped at seven games. It had been the team's longest stretch without committing an error since the 2012 Beavers went eight games from May 15 through June 1 of that season.

• Beau Philip went 1-for-3 in the opener to extend his hit streak to six games. He is one shy of a season-long seven-game streak.
• The Beavers dropped to 20-5-1 when scoring first this season.
