
Mazon, Weeks Garner All-Region Honors

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Oregon State softball's Mariah Mazon and Shelby Weeks each garner their second postseason award after receiving 2019 National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Pacific Region accolades announced by the head office on Thursday.
Mazon and Weeks were named to the Pac-12 All-Conference Second Team last weekend prior to the final three games of the season.
Mazon earns her first NFCA Regional honor by being named to the All-Region Second Team. The Tulare, Calif. native pitched 174.0 innings and struck out 166 batters during her second season in Corvallis. She held a 17-12 record while throwing 20 complete games with four shutouts. Mazon earned her first Pac-12 Pitcher of the Week honor on April 29 after capturing three victories at Oregon after pitching 15.2 innings with two complete games and striking out eight batters.
Weeks earns her second NFCA All-Region Third Team honor after also receiving the award in 2016. The Tracy, Calif. native led the team with a .331 batting average, 49 hits and 38 runs scored. The senior also set the career stolen base record at OSU after stealing 16 this season moving her career total to 59. Weeks helped the Beavers sweep Oregon for the first time since 2006 batting .636 with four runs and four RBI through the three games. Weeks also hit two home runs in game three to give OSU a 12-8 victory over the Ducks.
This is the seventh and eighth time that a Beaver has received All-Region honors under head coach Laura Berg: Hope Brandner (2018), Alyssa Everett (2017), Weeks (2016), Dani Gilmore (2014), Natalie Hampton and Lea Cavestany (2013).
