
Rutschman Named A Dick Howser Trophy Semifinalist

DALLAS – Oregon State junior catcher Adley Rutschman has been named a semifinalist for the Dick Howser Trophy, the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) announced on Thursday.
The Dick Howser Trophy is awarded annually by the NCBWA to the nation's top player, and the list of semifinalists includes 26 players from across the nation. Finalists will be announced June 6 with the winner unveiled on June 15.
Rutschman leads the nation with a .581 on-base percentage and 66 walks, is fourth with a .428 batting average and fifth with a .783 slugging percentage. He leads Oregon State and is tied for third in the Pac-12 Conference with 16 home runs to go along with nine doubles, one triple and 53 runs batted in.
The selection comes just a day after Rutschman was named a semifinalist for the Golden Spikes Award, which is given to the top amateur player by USA Baseball.
