Beavers Earn Trip To NCAA Men’s Golf Regionals
May 01, 2019 | Men's Golf
CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Oregon State men's golf team earned an invitation to the 2019 NCAA Division I Men's Golf Regionals on Wednesday. The Beavers are one of 81 teams to receive a bid and will compete at TPC Myrtle Beach in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina from May 13-15.
"I'm very happy for our guys," Oregon State head coach Jon Reehoorn said. "They've worked very hard and have believed they could get to this point. This is such a fun group of guys to be around. I'm excited we get to continue playing. The season starts over at zero and we are ready to compete in postseason play."
Thirteen teams and 10 individuals not on those teams will compete at each of three regionals while the other three regionals will have 14 teams and five individuals not on those teams. The low five teams and the low individual not on those teams from each regional will advance to the finals.
The finals will be played May 24-29 at Blessings Golf Club in Fayetteville, Ark.
This year's men's golf championships will be broadcast for the sixth consecutive year by Golf Channel with more than 100 news and tournament hours planned again for the NCAA Division I Men's and Women's Golf Championships.
This is the first time the Beavers have advanced to postseason play since 2013. Their best-ever finish at NCAA Regionals is fourth place in 2010, which earned them a trip to NCAA Nationals where they finished in a tie for 16th place.
