Last Game
Adley Rutschman hit his 15th home run of the season and Zack Zalesky rallied with a pair of runs on a two-out double in the ninth but the Beavers' rally came up short in a 6-3 loss to Gonzaga on Tuesday. Oregon State had the bases loaded to end the game. Rutschman and Andy Armstrong each had two hits.
Orange & Black Times Two
Friday's opener marks the first meeting between the Beavers and Cowboys since Oregon State won a 5-3 decision in 2015 in Surprise, Ariz. The previous six meetings between the teams have all come at neutral sites, and the all-time series is tied at three games apiece.
Rutschman To Nine Games
Adley Rutschman extended his hit streak to nine games by going 2-for-4 with a home run Tuesday. He is 17-for-35 (.486) with three doubles, three home runs, 12 RBI and 10 walks during it. That's an on-base percentage of .600 and a slugging percentage of .829 (and an OPS of 1.429).
And He's Climbing The Lists
Adley Rutschman's home run Tuesday was his 15th of the year, moving him into a tie for third (Al Hunsinger, 1981) all-time in a single-season at OSU. It was the 26th of his career, good for eighth at OSU. He's also now tied for the single-season record for walks at 55 (Michael Conforto, 2014). Rutschman also stands seventh with 213 career hits.
"Bye Week"
The series versus Oklahoma State stands as the Beavers' bye week from Pac-12 Conference play. Oregon State has won nine straight games in its Pac-12 bye week, taking three from Central Arkansas in 2016, four from Abilene Christian in 2017 and two at Missouri State in 2018.
70s And Sunny
The predicted weather for the series ranges from 69 and sunny Friday to a high of 76 on Sunday. That should aid Oregon State's attendance numbers, which stand at an average of 3,613 through 20 games, good for 15th nationally.
Singles
• OSU is projected to wear its all white uniforms Friday - the Beavers are 5-1 in them this season.
• Andy Armstrong has hit safely in four straight and is 8-for-19 (.421).
• OSU is 142-29-2 (.827) since 2017.
