Beau Philip and Adley Rutschman each tallied two hits to lead Oregon State but the Beavers dropped a 4-3 decision to San Diego State Tuesday night at Goss Stadium. Philip drove home a run on a single in the second and doubled in the ninth but was stranded at second base on a ground out to end the game.
Rutschman To Posey Award Watch List
Adley Rutschman was named to the Buster Posey Award watch list on Tuesday. The award, which is given annually to the nation's top catcher, was recently re-named for the current San Francisco Giants backstop. It had previously been known as the Johnny Bench Award.

Adley Rutschman and Brandon Eisert were named to Perfect Game's Midseason All-America First Team, which the publication announced on Wednesday. Rutschman is batting .420 with eight home runs, 29 runs batted in and 37 walks this season. Eisert is 6-0 with a 0.30 earned run average and 44 walks to just five strikeouts in 30 innings.

Beau Philip's 2-for-5 night on Tuesday pushed his hit streak to three games. He is 5-for-12 during the streak, adding two doubles, a triple, four walks and four RBI.
