
Beavers Prepared For Pac-12 Championship

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Oregon State men's golf team will compete at the 60th Annual Pac-12 Championship Monday through Wednesday in Eugene.

Pac-12 Networks will air live coverage of the finishing holes in the final round of the championships on Wednesday, April 24 at 2 p.m.

FIELD (12): Oregon State, Arizona, Arizona State, California, Colorado, Oregon, Stanford, UCLA, USC, Utah, Washington and Washington State.

COURSE: The tournament will be held at the par-71, 7,044-yard Eugene Country Club.
Â
BEAVERS' LINEUP: Oregon State will go with a lineup of senior Trevor Yu, juniors Kyosuke Hara and Shawn Lu, sophomore Spencer Tibbits and freshmen Sean Kato and Nolan Thoroughgood.

FORMAT: Three-day, 72-hole tournament with 36 holes on Monday and 18 holes on Tuesday and Wednesday. The top-five individuals from each six-member team with the lowest scores for each 18-hole round constitute the scoring members for that given round.

TEE TIMES: Monday's tee times will be off No. 1 and No. 10 at 7:15 a.m., followed by the second round teeing off at 12:30 p.m. Tee times for Tuesday will begin at 9 a.m. off No. 1 and No. 10. Wednesday's final round will begin at 8 a.m. off No. 1 and No. 10 with pairings decided by order of finish following Tuesday's round.

Oregon State will start on the first tee at 7:15 a.m. on Monday and be paired with USC and Washington.

LAST TIME OUT: Oregon State continued its strong play with a second place finish at the El Macero Classic.

The Beavers concluded the three-day, 54-hole tournament with a 6-over 291-285-294--870 at the par-72, 7,108-yard El Macero Country Club to finish second behind No. 10 Texas Tech (even-par 864). Cal State Fullerton (7-over 871), San Francisco (11-over 875) and Nevada (12-over 876) rounded out the top five.

It's the third consecutive top three finish for Oregon State after winning the title at the Duck Invitational and finishing third at the Redhawk Invitational.

Spencer Tibbits was steady as usual, finishing in 10th place with a 1-over 71-73-73--217. It's his fourth top-10 finish of the season after posting three last year as a freshman.

After a tough start to the tournament, Shawn Lu battled back to earn his best finish this season, a tie for 14th place, with a 3-over 77-69-73--219. He also finished in a tie for 14th at the season-opening Showdown In The Rockies.

Kyosuke Hara also had a solid final round to finish in a tie for 19th place with a 4-over 70-77-73--220. It's the seventh top-20 finish in his three years at Oregon State.

Sean Kato (5-over 76-66-79--221) and Nolan Thoroughgood (10-over 74-77-75--226) finished in a tie for 22nd and tie for 41st, respectively.

Carson Barry competed as an individual and finished in a tie for 53rd place with a 14-over 76-74-80--230.
