Jon Reehoorn Set To Depart Oregon State
June 03, 2026 | Men's Golf
CORVALLIS – Jon Reehoorn will depart the Oregon State men's golf program to work with Joel Dahmen on the PGA Tour, Vice President and Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Scott Barnes announced Wednesday.
"I have loved all 16 years of my time at Oregon State," Reehoorn said. "Not everything lasts forever, and as my kids get older, my wife and I have decided now is the time for our family to have the opportunity to grow up with their grandparents and other family members in the Seattle area. Working with Joel allows this to happen."
"I want to thank all the student-athletes who have been part of my life at Oregon State," Reehoorn added. "I owe so much to the donors and alumni who have given generously to the men's golf program. I also want to thank Scott Barnes for his support of our program and myself. Since 2005 it has been about my career and now is the time to put my family first."
Reehoorn led the Oregon State men's golf program to seven trips to the NCAA Championships, 10 team titles and several individual honors and records during his 16 years as the program's head coach.
"I want to thank Coach Reehoorn for leading our men's golf program for the past 16 years," Barnes said. "He accomplished so much as a coach and mentor to his student-athletes, while leading them on the golf course and in the community. Family is especially important to Jon, and I know this is the right decision for him, his wife, Meghan, and their children, Zoë, and Hudson. We wish all of them the absolute best."
Reehoorn mentored two All-Americans during his tenure, and most recently brought Nguyen Anh Minh to Corvallis, who was named a Freshman All-American after setting the Oregon State single-year scoring average at 69.13. Eight of the Top 10 single-season averages by a Beaver have come during Reehoorn's tenure. Seventeen of the Top 25 golfers in career scoring average competed at least one season under Reehoorn.
