Mitchell Verburg struck out Spencer Torkelson with the game-tying and winning run on base in a 4-3 Oregon State win over Arizona State Sunday. Jake Dukart drove in two in the Beavers' four-run fifth inning to help send Oregon State to the series victory.

Against Arizona
Arizona holds a slim margin in the all-time series, 38-36, but the Beavers are 20-10 in games played in Corvallis. OSU has won the last two series at Goss Stadium, and five of the last six there dating back to 2006.

Thursday To Saturday
The teams open the series on Thursday and finish it Saturday. It will mark the first Thursday game of 2019 for Oregon State, which was 4-1 on Thursdays last season. The Beavers also have a Thursday-Saturday series, May 23-25, when closing out the regular season versus USC.

Andy Armstrong filled in admirably at short in the series win over Arizona State. He was 4-for-10, adding an RBI and a stolen base.

The Bullpen, Again
The Oregon State bullpen shined versus Arizona State. The 'pen combined for 9 1/3 innings of work versus the Sun Devils, allowing six hits and two runs while striking out 10.

Five In Six
Thursday's opener begins a stretch of five games in six days for the Beavers, who will play a pair of midweek contests Monday and Tuesday in Reno against Nevada. OSU played five games in five days April 2-7 (day off on the April 4, DH versus Utah April 7), and finished with a 4-1 mark.

Rutschman And Free Bases
Adley Rutschman was walked four times Sunday, and has 45 walks on the year - 13 have been intentional. He's 10 shy of tying Michael Conforto (2014) for the most in a single-season at OSU. Rutschman is on pace for 74 through the regular season.
