Beavers Celebrate Season at Annual Banquet

Oregon State hands out end of season awards
CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Oregon State women's basketball team celebrated an outstanding season Sunday evening, as the team hosted its annual awards banquet.
The Beavers recognized a number of individual and team achievements at the event, including the squad's Sweet 16 run in the NCAA Tournament. Destiny Slocum and Mikayla Pivec were highlighted for numerous awards, including All-America Honorable Mention and All-Pac-12 honors. Aleah Goodman was recognized for her Pac-12 Sixth Player of the Year award, while Katie McWilliams was highlighted as a Pac-12 All-Defensive Honorable Mention. Pivec, Slocum, McWilliams, Goodman, Taya Corosdale and Janessa Thropay were also honored for academic achievements.
Oregon State also handed out its annual team awards at the event. Pivec was honored as Offensive Player of the Year, and was named Carol Menken-Schaudt Teammate of the Year for the second-straight season. Pivec averaged 15.2 points and 9.2 rebounds per game this season, while shooting 52.6 percent from the floor. She tallied 10 double-doubles, and finished the year 14th in Oregon State history for career points and ninth in program history for career rebounds.
McWilliams notched Defensive Player of the Year honors for the second-straight year. The senior is a two-time Pac-12 Defensive Honorable Mention, starting every game for the Beavers this season. McWilliams played the second-most games in Oregon State history, finishing her career with a record of 115-26. She is among the top-10 in Beaver history in both career 3-pointers and career 3-point percentage.

Corosdale was selected for the Top-Rebounder Award. The sophomore hauled in 7.8 rebounds per contest, finishing the year with the fifth-highest rebounding total by a sophomore in program history. Corosdale pulled down 70 rebounds over the last seven games of the season, and tallied double-digit boards nine times.
Joanna Grymek was picked as the team's Most Improved Player for the second-consecutive season. The 6-foot-6 center played in all 34 games, making eight starts. Grymek scored 7.1 points per game and pulled down 4.6 rebounds per contest. The senior shot 62.8 percent from the floor, the sixth-best single-season percentage in Oregon State history.

As a team, the Beavers finished the 2018-19 season with a record of 26-8, one of the top-five records in program history. Oregon State made its fourth consecutive Sweet 16, and earned an NCAA Tournament berth for the sixth-straight year.
