
Burden, Taylor Named Scholar-Athletes Of The Month

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Oregon State Athletics is proud to announce that softball's Chance Burden and baseball's Zak Taylor have been named the March Scholar-Athletes of the Month.
Burden, a sophomore from Huntington Beach, Calif., has started in 11 games this season in left field. Burden has recorded one double, one RBI and one sacrifice hit to help the Beavers start the 2019 season with a 12-4 record. She also went 2-for-3 and scored one run against Seattle U to help OSU capture a 6-4 victory at the Kajikawa Classic. Burden carries a 3.57 cumulative GPA majoring in marketing while also a member of OSU's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.
Taylor, a senior from Sherwood, Ore., is a two-time Pac-12 All-Academic honorable mention selection as a psychology major, and currently carries a 3.14 cumulative GPA. He has played in 11 games for the Beavers in 2019, starting nine games, and has helped Oregon State to a 10-1 record as the team prepares for the Seattle Baseball Showcase this weekend. He has four runs batted in on the year.
