Beavers Ready for Showdown with Cyclones

CORVALLIS – The Oregon State wrestling team returns to Gill Coliseum on Monday as they welcome No. 12 Iowa State to Corvallis for a nonconference matchup beginning at 7 p.m.

Oregon State enters the week ranked No. 17 by InterMat and TheOpenMat in the tournament rankings. TrackWrestling puts the Beavers at No. 20 in the tournament rankings. OSU remains unranked in the national dual rankings.
Redshirt senior Ronnie Bresser continues his tear though the competition as he again finds himself as a unanimous No. 3 at 125 pounds. The Klamath Falls, Ore. native is 18-1 on the season with a perfect record in dual meets. Heavyweight Amar Dhesi (5-1) moved up one spot in the rankings to No. 3 by TheOpenMat. The Surrey, B.C. native holds a No. 4 ranking from InterMat and FloWrestling, while TrackWrestling puts Dhesi at No. 6.
Last Time Out
Oregon State hit the road last week for a pair of duals ending in San Luis Obispo with a Pac-12 showdown at Cal Poly. The Beavers dominated from start to finish putting up a 37-10 score line. Out of the eight bouts won, Oregon State had bonus point wins in seven of those.
Iowa State
The Cyclones enter the week with a 9-2 overall record and a 6-1 mark in the Big 12. ISU most recently wrestled Utah Valley winning by a final score of 53-0. The Cyclones boast eight wrestlers who are ranked in at least one publication: 125 – No. 16 Alex Mackall; 133 – No. 8 Austin Gomez; 141 – No. 11 Ian Parker; 149 – No. 7 Jarrett Degen; 174 – No. 20 Marcus Coleman; 184 – No. 14 Sam Colbray; 197 – No. 6 Willie Miklus.
