Bryce Fehmel Named Pac-12 Pitcher Of The Week
February 19, 2019 | Baseball
SAN FRANCISCO – Oregon State senior Bryce Fehmel has been named the Pac-12 Conference's Pitcher of the Week, it was announced on Tuesday.
Fehmel, a right-hander from Agoura Hills, Calif., held Gonzaga to just one hit and three total baserunners in Saturday's 9-3 win. He gave up a second-inning home run and saw Gonzaga batters reach via an error and fielder's choice in the fourth but held the Bulldogs off the basepaths in his final four innings of work.
Fehmel ended his first start of the season with eight innings of work, striking out three. He did not issue a walk and won his 27th career game, which is now good for a tie for eighth in the Oregon State record books.
The honor is the second of his career; his first came on March 28, 2017. He is the 25th Oregon State pitcher to be recognized at least twice during their career.
Fehmel's honor is also the 93rd all-time for an Oregon State pitcher, the most in the conference's history. The next closest is Stanford with 86.
Fehmel, a preseason All-American by multiple organizations, is a two-time regular season All-American, in 2016 and 2018. A marketing major, he is also a two-time Pac-12 All-Academic Honorable Mention selection.
Next Up
