
Carey Secures Silver to Conclude World Championships

STUTTGART, Germany – Jade Carey, who signed a National Letter of Intent with Oregon State, concluded her competition at the 2019 Women's Gymnastics World Championships with a silver medal on the vault during individual finals Saturday.
Carey, who already helped Team USA to a gold medal in the team competition earlier in the week, posted scores of 15.166 and 14.600 for an average of 14.883 to finish second in the vault final to teammate Simone Biles.

The future Beaver gymnast will continue her pursuit of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics in February at a World Cup meet in Melbourne, Australia where she could all but wrap up her ticket to the Games as an individual. Carey is expected to join the OSU gymnastics program in time for the 2021 season.
