OSU is in the preseason top 10 for the fourth consecutive season
CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Oregon State baseball team, 2018 National Champions, will open the 2019 season ranked second by Perfect Game USA, which released its top 25 on Wednesday.
The No. 2 ranking is topped only by LSU, whom Oregon State defeated twice at the 2018 Corvallis Regional.
It is the second top-10 ranking this year for the Beavers, who are at No. 7 in Collegiate Baseball's preseason poll. Oregon State is in the preseason top-10 of at least one poll for the fourth consecutive season.
Oregon State finished the 2018 season with a 55-12-1 mark, winning the program's third national title after taking two-of-three over Arkansas in the CWS Championship Series.
Perfect Game also released its preseason All-America teams on Tuesday. Adley Rutschman and Kevin Abel were named first team, Bryce Fehmel was selected to the second team and Jake Mulholland on the third team. All four were recognized for a second time as Collegiate Baseball also selected them in December.
