Thompson and Washington Named Scholar Athletes of the Month

CORVALLIS – Oregon State Athletics is proud to announce Ethan Thompson and Madison Washington have been named as January Scholar Athletes of the Month.

Thompson, a sophomore from Los Angeles, Calif., has started all 12 games this season and is averaging 12.3 points, 5.7 rebounds and 2.5 assists. He posted his first career double-double this season and had a streak of three straight games with 20-plus points. Thompson carries a 3.55 cumulative GPA in digital communication arts. He graduated from Bishop Montgomery High School in 2017 with a 4.17 GPA.
Washington, a junior from Las Vegas, Nev., has started the last six games for Oregon State, shooting 59.2 percent when in the starting five this season. The forward posted a 3.62 GPA this fall, majoring in digital communication arts in the College of Liberal Arts, and was part of the Nevada All-State Academic Team during her time at Bishop Gorman High School.
