Beavers fall at Arizona State

The Beavers (1-4, 0-2 Pac-12) lost to the Sun Devils (3-2, 1-1 Pac-12) by a final score of 52-24 on Saturday night.
Jefferson's 254 rushing yards marks the most against the Sun Devils by a Beaver in Oregon State history.
Arizona State scored on three possessions early putting Oregon State in a 17-0 deficit in the second quarter.
The Beavers broke the shutout in the second quarter on an extended drive that lasted 13 plays chewing up 5:36 off the game clock. Jordan Choukair capped off the drive with a 36-yard field goal.
ASU added another touchdown to its total putting the Beavs in a 24-3 hole. Jefferson scored his first touchdown of the half capping a 75-yard drive from the Beavers with a physical 11-yard run.
Trailing 24-17, and with time winding down in the first half it was again Jefferson who found himself in the end zone. The 11-play drive left just over a minute on the game clock before halftime. ASU added another touchdown before time expired, Oregon State trailed 31-17 at the break.
Oregon State trailed 38-17 midway through the third quarter, but used a long drive pulling within two scores. Jefferson broke off a 45-yard run getting the Beavers in good field position, and on fourth down Blount completed a 4-yard pass to Noah Togiai his first catch of the season and a touchdown.
Arizona State won by a final score of 52-24.
