Beavers Set For Weekend Tourney In Arizona

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Oregon State men's golf team will compete at the Maui Jim Intercollegiate Friday through Sunday in Scottsdale, Ariz.
FIELD (14): Oregon State, Arizona State, Auburn, Augusta, Clemson, Georgia Tech, Georgia State, Houston, Kansas State, Kent State, LSU, Minnesota, North Carolina State and Oregon.
COURSE: The tournament will be held at the par-70, 7,081-yard Mirabel Golf Club.
BEAVERS' LINEUP: Oregon State will go with a lineup of juniors Kyosuke Hara and Shawn Lu, sophomore Spencer Tibbits, and freshmen Sean Kato and Nolan Thoroughgood.
FORMAT: Three-day, 54-hole tournament with 18 holes each day. The top-four individuals from each five-member team with the lowest scores for each 18-hole round constitute the scoring members for that given round.
TEE TIMES: There will be tee times off the first and 10th tees beginning at 7 a.m. each day. The Beavers will start at 8:40 a.m. on Friday.
LIVE SCORING: There will be live scoring for the tournament on golfstat.com.

LAST TIME OUT: Oregon State opened its 2018-19 season with a tie for second place finish at the Showdown in the Rockies in Driggs, Idaho earlier this week.
The Beavers concluded the two-day, 54-hole tournament with an 8-under 283-288-285--856 at the par-72, 7,613-yard Huntsman Springs Golf Course to finish tied for second with Texas Tech.
Utah won the tournament with a 22-under 842. Pac-12 foes Arizona (4-under 860) and Colorado (16-over 880) finished fifth and eighth, respectively.
Spencer Tibbits finished in a tie for fourth place with an 8-under 70-66-72--208. His best career finish is fourth place at last spring's Duck Invitational and his best 54-hole score is an 11-under 202 at last year's Alister MacKenzie Invitational.
Shawn Lu finished the tourney strong with two sub-par rounds that helped him climb the leaderboard and finish in a tie for 14th place with a 1-over 75-71-71--217.
Nolan Thoroughgood and Sean Kato made their collegiate debuts and finished in a tie for 21st and tie for 27th, respectively. Thoroughgood posted a 3-over 70-74-75--219 and Kato carded a 4-over 73-77-70--220.
Kyosuke Hara finished in a tie for 27th place with a 4-over 70-78-72--220. Trevor Yu, who competed as an individual, finished in a tie for 40th place with a 9-over 73-77-75--225.
