
Call, Maritz Qualify to U23 World Championships

WEST WINDOR, N.J. – Former Oregon State rowers Baxter Call and Jesse Maritz helped their Under 23 men's quadruple sculls to a first place finish at the 2018 World Championships Trials over the weekend.
Call (Vashon Island, Wash.), a 2018 Pac-12 All-Conference team member, and Maritz (Stanwood, Wash.), the 2015 Pac-12 Newcomer of the Year, completed their collegiate careers for the Beavers last month.
The duo along with Alexandr Lilichenko and Jacob Plihal, racing out of the Northwest Rowing Center clocked in at 6-minutes, 11.20-seconds to defeat a crew from Craftsbury Sculling Center (6:24.39) to qualify to the 2018 World Rowing U23 Championships in Poznan, Poland July 25-29.
It will be the first international races for both of the former Beavers.
