Men’s Rowers Earn a Dozen All-Academic Awards

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – A dozen Oregon State men's rowers were named to the Pac-12 Men's Rowing All-Academic team when it was announced by the Conference on Tuesday.
Six OSU rowers earned first team honors including seniors Baxter Call (3.73, environmental engineering) and Neall Koetje (3.78, exercise and sport science), juniors Zach Fried (3.75, chemistry), Camron Gharib (3.83, political science) and Miles Moran (3.71, kinesiology) and sophomore Tyler Gray (3.92, BioHealth Sciences). It is the third straight year Call and Koetje have earned first team honors and second in a row for Fried, Gharib and Moran.
In addition, a pair of Beavers achieved second team honors. Juniors Ercoli Crugnale (3.54, philosophy) and Hunter Smith (3.47, mechanical engineering) were second team honorees for the second year in a row.
Honorable mention recognition went to juniors Austin DeMartine and Glenn Miller, as well as sophomores Roman Pjajka and Jacob Randall. It is the second straight honorable mention award for DeMartine and Miller.
To be eligible for selection to the academic team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade point average and participate in at least half of their team's scheduled regular season events.
