Beavers Win Two Events on Final Day of OSU High Performance Meet

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Oregon State University track & field team wrapped up the final day of the sixth annual OSU High Performance Meet with two individual winners and seven all-time top-10 marks.
The first champion of the day was Ann Wingeleth in the long jump. Wingeleth punched the fifth-best mark in Oregon State's history with a jump of 19' 1.25". Saskia McNairy took fifth in the event at 18' 1.5", while Claire Corbitt recorded one jump at 14' 8.75".
Destiny Dawson solidified her back-to-back titles in the javelin after taking first place with a throw of 163' 11". The Beavers had three throwers in the finals with Amber Peschka taking sixth with a personal record at 146' 3" improving her fifth-best mark in OSU history.
The Beavers had two record top-10 times in the 100 hurdles led by senior Alba Villaronga. Villaronga took third place overall with the seventh-fastest time in Oregon State's history, 14.37. McNairy placed seventh with a time of 14.64, the 10th-best time in program history.
In the 800 meters, Nicole Goecke improved her second-best time to 2:06.59 becoming just the second runner in Oregon State history to eclipse 2:07 in the event. Senior Kala Kopecek broke 2:10 for the first time in her career running a 2:09.85, the fourth-best time on the all-time list.
Oregon State's final event of the day was another all-time finish in the Beavers first attempt at the 1,600-Meter Relay. Kala Kopecek, Tarisa Olinski, Kim Solberg, and Nicole Goecke combined for a 3:50.82, the fourth-best time in OSU history.

The Beavers will split duties next week as some head to the Oregon Twilight meet on May 4, while the heptathlon competitors will head to Palo Alto, Calif. for the Pac-12 Multi-Events Championships.
