Beavers Selected To NCAA Golf Regionals
April 25, 2018 | Women's Golf
CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Oregon State women's golf team earned an invitation to the 2018 NCAA Division I Women's Golf Regionals on Wednesday. The Beavers are one of 72 teams to receive a bid and will compete in the Madison (Wisconsin) Regional May 7-9.
Â
This is the first time Oregon State has made it to postseason in consecutive years since 2000-2001. The Beavers finished seventh last year in Lubbock, Texas, their best-ever finish at NCAA Regionals.
Â
"This is a fresh start for our team," Oregon State head coach Dawn Shockley said. "We have had some great events this spring and we will not let our performance at the Pac-12 Championship get in the way.
Â
"We look forward to heading back to Madison where we had a successful event in the fall."
Â
The Beavers competed at the East West Match Play Challenge in Madison, Wis., this past September and defeated Michigan 3-2 and UC Davis 3-2 at the par-72, 6,219-yard University Ridge Golf Course.
Â
Four 54-hole regional tournaments will be conducted May 7-9. Each regional will consist of 18 teams and six individuals. The low six teams and three individuals not on those teams from each regional will advance to the finals.
Â
Team and individual medalist titles will be decided May 17-23 at Karsten Creek Golf Club in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
